"The United Republic of Nations. It is a sovereign state formed by Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko after the end of the Hundred Year War. It was formed from the Fire Nation colonies established in the western Earth Kingdom and was created to serve as a society where benders and non-benders from all four nations could live and thrive together in peace and harmony. It's capital is Republic City, formerly Cranefish Town."

It was a lesson she'd memorized from a fairly young age, taking great interest and pride in the history of the Republic and all the advances that had come along with it. Plus Air Temple Island was just off of the coast of Republic City, so it was important to learn about it.

"The Fire Nation, Earth Kingdom, and Water tribes are still around. But the Republic is somewhere that everyone is welcome and all of their cultures blend and become one."

"Actually it's done pretty well. Well except for when the spirit wilds tried to take over after harmonic convergence, then everything changed. When the Earth Kingdom attacked we had to defend it too. But it has fair laws and number of checks and balances in place to ensure everyone has a voice."

Jinora ignored the noise and just kept going.

"Thanks to the collaberation from multiple people technology has really advanced, and there's all sort of things that we wouldn't have if it hadn't been formed. Which shows that if we all cooperate and work together here we'll be able to accomplish a lot as well."

"Firelord Zuko did help and was an instrumental part of the founding of republic city, but it was the blending of all the different nations and cultures that allowed it to flourish. There were representatives from each nation, and the council ensured that no one nation had more say than another. Rather than just a single viewpoint and strict regiment of cultural purity like the traditional fire nation views. Rather than a tight culture, it's a casual one where all viewpoints and practices are respected so long as they're infringing on another."

Though the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom had both developed a number of rapid advances due to the war.
