Opt-In/Opt-Out: Cold Reading

Canonically, Azula is extremely perceptive about people... within certain parameters.

She's good at recognizing when somebody is lying, albeit not as good as an Earthbender- she does it through good old-fashioned perception and attention to details. Little things don't tend to slip past her. However, she does have raging emotional blind spots that she refuses to acknowledge (she tends, for instance, to assume altruism is always either naive or self-serving due to her unrelentingly cynical and paranoid nature.) As such, it's very possible for her to Miss Things that she shouldn't purely because she dismisses them, misinterprets them, or fails to correct for them.

If you have any details for your character that you would like Azula to notice or deduce, feel free to present them here. If you specifically think there's something here she would misread entirely, feel free to point it out as well. You're also free to opt out entirely- it's completely possible for Azula to simply write your character off as not worth noticing in finer details. I'm flexible, this is meant to be fun, not OP!

Feel free to use Azula's ability however you want with Arrakis!

Arrakis is very good at lying, or rather keeping his true feelings behind a friendly mask that he has carefully crafted over years of perfecting his appearance as a noble. Not all of it is a lie, which makes it more believable. You would never guess this charming gentleman was secretly an unwanted son outside of the public eye.

To the perceptive eye however he is far from perfect. He does show a hint of honesty for a brief moment before he hides behind his mask, especially if something really resonates with him. For example, his smile might waver for a second before he fixes it and he fiddle with the small braid that's woven on the left side and his movements slow slightly when he's upset. He tries to hide any hints of weakness behind humor or cleverly redirecting the conversation away before people have a chance to question it.

For Labryinthum in particular, his animal characteristics of his half animal form give a much more honest reaction. His wings ruffle easily and his tail is a dead giveaway if Azula knows cat body language. Arrakis has realized this and he will try to position himself so his tail isn't easily seen. Eventually I want him to get better at hiding his animal tells but that won't happen for a while.
